About the Opportunity
Join the Communities & Education Team at Wildlife Trust Beds, Cambs & Northants on their National Lottery-funded Peatland Progress project. This traineeship offers hands-on learning through practical conservation, community engagement, education, and marketing, finding out what a career in conservation could look like for you. With structured mentoring and opportunities to design activities, you’ll build foundational skills and explore a future in conservation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Gain hands-on experience in practical conservation, digital storytelling, community engagement, and education
- Help organise and deliver community events, guided walks, displays, workshops, and online promotion efforts
- Lead specific project aspects, guided by the Communities & Education team
- Share your progress through social media, reports, and presentations
- Attend regular mentoring sessions to reflect on achievements and growth
What We’re Looking For
- Aged 18-25, with right to work in the UK
- Transport access required (if using your own vehicle for work purposes, mileage is reimbursed at 45p/mile)
- Strong oral and written communication in English
- Comfortable working outdoors and navigating uneven terrain
- Motivated to learn, with a passion for nature and community outreach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Contract: Fixed Term (6 months, October 2025 to March 2026)
Hours: Part Time/ Full Time (22.5 hours – 37.5 hours per week)
Location: Ramsey Heights Countryside Classroom, Chapel Road, Ramsey Heights, PE26 2RS
Salary: £12.60 per hour
