In partnership with NCS (National Citizen Service) we are delivering engaging and diverse youth development programmes. Supported by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority along with the Birketts Community Grassroots Endowed Fund and CambsCuisine through the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, these initiatives offer practical, real-world experience in business and community development.

‘Solving Socio-Economic Challenges in St Neots’: This 12-week programme
will see young people work with the St Neots Initiative to address local
community issues. Participants will be divided into squads, each focusing on a
specific community challenge. Their journey will involve identifying problems,
devising solutions, and pitching their ideas to the St Neots Initiative board.

‘Curious About Ice Cream’: This experience will enable participants to build and market an ice cream brand. From negotiating with suppliers to creating a compelling menu, engaging in various marketing activities and selling the product, this programme offers a comprehensive business and marketing experience.

the ultimate work experience

As part of our partnership with the leading property consultancy firm, Inspire 2 Ignite CIC worked collaboratively with the Bidwells’ talent team to offer a unique and incredible opportunity for young people to embed themselves in the company this summer.

The 5-day programme reimagined the traditional ‘work experience’ for young people experiencing or at risk of NEET (not in Education, Employment or Training) to design their very own town and gain hands-on experience in every aspect of Bidwells’ operations and departments.

The participants experienced a fully supported, transformational deep dive into the organisations culture.

We will do this again and again, as the work experience programme we did with Inspire 2 Ignite inspired us as a firm. Seeing these amazing people attend, thrive and come up with amazing ideas was wonderful to be a part of, and I look forward to watching them grow.

CUrious about ice cream – experience

We took students from Alternative Provision on an entrepreneurial journey, learning about business and igniting their characteristics. Guided by our team, the students took charge of the cart and steered the project, building their brand, negotiating with suppliers, setting prices and learning how to entice and sell to customers. The young people also learned about food hygiene, licensing requirements, and the art of pitching for space at events or co-working buildings.

The young people came away from the day oozing with newfound confidence; “I can talk to people”, “I can sell”, and What is next? I want to learn more about business”.

Thank you for an amazing project, which I am sure will have a long lasting positive impact on our young people. I can honestly say, it couldn't have gone any better! The outcomes observed today are testament to the brilliant work all of you have put in over the last few weeks. This experience will be life changing for our young people.

CUrious about industry – experience

We took a group of 16-24 year olds to our very first ‘Curious About Industry’ experience at the Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA).

At MOLA’s processing centre in Stansted, the group had the opportunity to learn and explore technology and archaeology, channelling their creativity. The young people worked together to produce a short film from scratch during their week with the archaeological professionals.

I loved that they turned Sage and the Black Cat into characters! They looked amazing and it was a lovely surprise to see them. I was not expecting this and it was above and beyond the brief.

curious corner – events

Each term, we work with a select group of schools to provide a safe space within their traditional careers fairs where students can think differently about themselves and their future.

We unlock young people’s untapped potential through our alternative approach and unique experiences. Combining our Curious Engagers who actively listen, ask powerful questions and become accountability partners, along with Ignite Champions from our partner organisations, we completely reimagine the traditional careers fair vibe.

Sam and Alex recently attended the CRC careers fair and basically managed to engage almost every passerby and got them talking, thinking and interacting! (I will not tell you how as I do not want to give the game away)

next step – EVENTS

In our first year, each quarter, we invited young people to pitch their business ideas to an expert panel. All pitches received cash and support to kick-start their businesses.

In 2023 and beyond, we are switching up the Next Step Events. Talented, activated young people will be able to connect with industry, coaching, workshops along with being able to pitch to businesses and entrepreneurs.

Sunday’s experience was truly surreal and transformative for me. The positive messages from the panellists really transformed my opinion of myself and my ability, it made me realise I am not stuck and with the right attention and direction I can reach crazy heights. You made a young man believe in himself once more. It made me realise all entrepreneurs can help each other and the work you guys are doing is outstanding.

community events

At Inspire 2 Ignite CIC, we’re on a mission to engage, inspire and activate; transforming the lives of young individuals aged 12-24. We understand the challenges that young people face when they’re at risk of being NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). Our purpose is to light up their paths, reignite their passions, and equip them with the skills they need to shape a future filled with promise.

We hold regular events, such as our Summer Party, Curious About.. series and Champion Meetings which connect our Ignite Champions, the larger community and the young people on our programmes. We always make sure the events are co-designed by young people, and that they play a front and centre role in the agenda.
