It Takes a City is a Cambridge-based charity providing emergency accommodation and long-term support for people experiencing homelessness. They operate a 20-bed hostel and work to help individuals rebuild stability and independence. 

About the Project

This project focuses on improving living spaces within the hostel to create a more comfortable, welcoming environment for residents. A well-presented room can make a huge difference to someone’s wellbeing and sense of dignity. 

Description of Volunteering Position

You will be part of a small team helping to decorate a bedroom within the hostel. This is a hands-on opportunity where your work will have a direct and visible impact. 

Responsibilities

Decorating and refreshing a bedroom  

Working collaboratively in a small team (3–4 people)  

Supporting preparation and clean-up  

Requirements 

No experience required  

Willingness to get involved and work as part of a team
