About the Opportunity

This Industry Experience Day with FORTEC Technology UK Ltd gives young people the chance to step inside a real technology business and explore careers across technical services, warehousing, operations, and business support.

FORTEC design, supply, and support specialist technology products for a wide range of customers. Their work combines technical knowledge, problem-solving, logistics, and teamwork making this a great opportunity for young people who are curious about how technology businesses operate behind the scenes.

This experience is designed to be interactive, supportive, and informative, helping you understand different roles and career pathways within a growing technology company.

What to Expect on the Day

During the day, young people will:

• Take part in a welcome and introduction to FORTEC, including what the company does and who they work with
• Join a guided tour of the building, including office, demonstration, and warehouse areas
• Learn about how products are sold, supplied, and supported, from order to customer
• Split into small groups to explore different areas, including:

  • Technical roles: insight into products, technician duties, and hands-on demonstrations (including returns and repair processes)

  • Warehouse roles: understanding stock flow, logistics, and how materials move through the business

• Take part in a Q&A session with staff, hearing about job roles, skills needed, and career journeys

Young people will be supported throughout the experience by FORTEC staff and the Inspire 2 Ignite team.
