Novotel North Cambridge is opening its doors to young people who want to explore what really goes on behind the scenes of a major hotel and discover career paths you may never have considered before.

This Industry Open Day is your chance to step into a real workplace, meet the people who run it, and experience what hospitality looks like beyond the front desk.

You don’t need experience.
You don’t need qualifications.
You just need the right attitude.

This is part of our Ignite into Industry Trailblazer Programme, alongside the industry days you will receive 10 hours of 1:1 careers coaching with Stay Nimble and lifetime access to their digital platform.

What to Expect on the Day

This is not a classroom session and not just a tour.

During the day, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at different parts of the hotel and how they all work together as one team. You may explore areas such as:

Front of House & Reception
Food & Beverage
Kitchen & Back of House
Housekeeping & Bedrooms Team
Facilities & Maintenance
Events, Reservations & Operations
Night Auditing

You’ll meet team members from different departments, hear their career journeys, and take part in interactive activities designed to bring the hotel to life.

The focus is on getting involved, asking questions, and seeing what it really feels like to work in a hotel environment.

What They’re Looking For

You don’t need hospitality experience. What matters most is:

Reliability – turning up on time and ready
Positive attitude – willingness to learn and engage
Curiosity – asking questions and getting involved
Respect – for guests, staff, and the workplace

Technical skills can be taught. Attitude makes the difference.
