About the Opportunity
Fancy finding out what bricklaying is actually like before deciding whether construction is for you?
Constructed Pathways is running a series of two-day Bricklaying Taster Sessions at Waterbeach Barracks, giving you the chance to learn the basics and have a go for yourself.

Over the two days, you’ll:
- Learn about PPE, risk assessments and working safely on site
- Get introduced to bricklaying tools, materials and terminology
- Learn how to safely handle and lift materials
- Practise basic trowel skills
- Build a small five-brick pyramid
- Have a go at laying bricks accurately to a string line
- Learn through practice and repetition, just like you would when developing a real trade skill
What You’ll Gain
- Your first hands-on experience of bricklaying
- An introduction to working safely in construction
- Practical and transferable workplace skills
- Experience requiring patience, concentration and persistence
- A chance to find out whether you’d enjoy learning a trade
