Trailblazer Opportunity: Try Scaffolding with Constructed Pathways

About the Opportunity

Never tried scaffolding before? That’s exactly the point.

Constructed Pathways is offering a two-day Scaffolding Taster Session where you can try practical construction activities in a safe, supportive environment. There’s no pressure to succeed and no previous experience needed, the only expectation is that you give it a go.

You’ll stay firmly on the ground throughout the taster, learning some of the basics of scaffolding, working alongside others to build real structures and discovering whether a practical career in construction could be something you’d enjoy.

What You’ll Be Doing

Across the two days, you’ll:

• Learn about essential site safety, including risk assessments, PPE and safe working
• Identify different scaffolding components and learn how they’re inspected
• Practise safe lifting and manual handling
• Learn to tie essential knots
• Try using a rope and gin wheel system
• Work as a team to erect and dismantle two scaffold structures

What You’ll Gain

• Hands-on experience of a construction trade
• An understanding of workplace health & safety
• Practical teamwork and problem-solving experience
