About the Project

The Big Listen is a community event taking place on Friday, 5th June 2026 in St Neots’ Market Square, bringing together the local community for a day of connection and celebration.

Description of Volunteering Position

As a Community & Business Engagement volunteer for The Big Listen, you’ll help connect the event with the wider St Neots community – reaching out to local businesses, organisations, and residents to build support, encourage attendance, and foster a real sense of community ownership around the event.

Responsibilities

• Approach and liaise with local businesses and community groups to promote the event
• Distribute promotional materials such as flyers and posters across the town
• Identify and follow up on partnership or sponsorship opportunities with local businesses
• Represent The Big Listen at community meetings or local events where appropriate
• Feed back community responses and insights to the wider team

Requirements

• Friendly, confident, and comfortable approaching businesses and members of the public
• Passionate about the St Neots community
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
