Work Experience Opportunity: Cambridge Brainery Week with Regeneration Brainery

About the Opportunity

Ever wondered who actually designs, funds, builds and brings to life the places where we live, work and spend our time?

The award-winning Regeneration Brainery is coming to Cambridge for the first time, giving young people aged 14+ the chance to spend five days exploring the huge range of careers available across property, regeneration and the built environment.

And this isn’t your average work experience. You’ll get out and about across Cambridge, go behind the scenes of major developments, meet the people actually working in the industry and tackle real projects and challenges.

Property isn’t just about becoming a builder or architect either. Careers span everything from engineering, sustainability and project management to marketing, ecology and interior design and Brainery Week is designed to help you discover where your own skills and interests could fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

Across five action-packed days, you’ll:

• Visit live developments and major projects across Cambridge
• Go behind the scenes to understand how new places are created
• Meet employers, graduates and professionals working across the industry
• Take part in hands-on workshops and real project challenges
• Discover careers you might never have considered – or even known existed
• Learn about different routes into the industry, including apprenticeships
• Build connections with employers and people already working in the sector
• Develop new skills and confidence while gaining real work experience

You’ll spend time with organisations including Homes England, Capital & Centric, Apache Capital, Bellway Homes and Latimer, giving you the chance to hear directly from the people designing, funding and delivering major projects.

And the experience doesn’t necessarily end after the five days. Previous Brainees have gone on to secure further work experience, internships, apprenticeships and graduate roles, with one in three alumni now working in the built environment.
