About the Opportunity

Are you interested in seeing what goes on behind the scenes at events and gaining hands-on experience in a busy venue? The Commemoration Hall in Huntingdon is offering a hands-on work experience opportunity as part of its Function Team. You’ll get to see what really goes into making an event happen, working alongside the team to bring everything together and create an enjoyable experience for guests.

You’ll receive training and support as you learn, making this a great opportunity to build your confidence, meet new people and gain practical experience in a busy events environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Function Team, you could get involved in:

• Welcoming guests and providing friendly front-of-house service
• Supporting events and private venue hires
• Serving customers at the bar
• Learning how to use the coffee machine and till
• Preparing and serving fresh food
• Learning about food hygiene, allergens and health & safety
• Helping receive deliveries and organise stock
• Keeping the bar, kitchen and wider venue clean and welcoming
• Working alongside the venue team and volunteers
• Helping make sure events run smoothly

Training will be provided before carrying out relevant duties.
