A Gathering of Purpose: Reflecting on the Inspire 2 Ignite Summer Party 2025
Three years ago, the Inspire 2 Ignite Summer Gathering was a small community event with a big mission. A handful of young people, partners, and community champions came together with a shared belief: that meaningful change begins with connection.
This week, that belief came to life on a whole new scale. Our third annual Summer Gathering welcomed more than twice as many attendees as last year – and more young people alone than the entire guest list at our very first Summer Gathering.
Held in the beautiful grounds of Shortmead House, the evening brought together a vibrant mix of young people, educators, employers, parents, and community leaders – all united by a bold theme: Exchanging Social Capital to Unlock Opportunity and Activate Lives.
The day began with an intimate partner lunch, where some of our most valued collaborators – past, present and future – joined us to reflect on the collective challenge we’re tackling as Inspire 2 Ignite: a system that too often overlooks young people and restricts opportunity to a privileged few.
Among those joining the lunch were three remarkable young people – Meida, Aaron and James – whose confidence and contributions set the tone for the hours to follow. Their presence reminded us of what this work is really about, and their activation in that space was felt by everyone around the table.
An evening of bold stories and real exchange
As the main event got underway, so too did the powerful conversations. We heard from a parent whose son had been deeply traumatised by his school experience – and watched him begin to rebuild trust, not only in others, but in himself.
We listened as young people shared the real-life impact of securing internships and apprenticeships through our programmes and partnerships. And throughout the evening, we witnessed social capital exchanged in real time – introductions made, meetings arranged, opportunities offered.
The night was brought to life by a high-energy breakdance performance from Trinity Warriors and two incredible young DJs from our community who kept the celebration going well into the evening.
This wasn’t just an event. It was momentum. It was community in motion.
The night wasn’t just a celebration – it was a milestone. We announced a three-year international partnership with MM Flowers, a local supporter turned global ally. We shared the exciting news of our new partnership with TRO, helping us reimagine spaces and events with young people at the heart. And we gave a preview of our next major moment: a flagship Inspire 2 Ignite event taking place in London on 8th October – a date we’re already counting down to.
Throughout it all, what stood out most was the genuine connection. Young people sitting alongside employers. Community voices holding space with policymakers. Parents and CEOs, creatives and changemakers – all coming together not in hierarchy, but in shared mission.
"Honestly loved it and loved meeting some of the young people. Just came away feeling so inspired and wanting to do more. Everyone there was so lovely."

Our thanks
This event simply couldn’t have happened without the support of our sponsors:
PremCom – our headline sponsor, whose commitment to young people is already in action. Through the Young Person Ready programme, they welcomed Meida into their team on a CPCA-funded internship – a real, paid opportunity for someone who had previously been overlooked.
The Hospitality Hero – a changemaker in the hospitality sector, reminding us why people, place and perception are crucial ingredients in rebuilding this vital industry.
First Ascent – specialists in leadership and performance who understand the long-term power of investing in people, and who continue to walk beside us as partners in unlocking potential.
Jason Williams – who gave hours of his time to deliver a seamless AV experience, and is now co-creating a new media project with two young people from our community. We missed the opportunity to thank him on the night – but let this be the celebration he deserves.
Hilmar Palsson– who captured every moment with empathy and talent, ensuring we can keep telling this story far beyond the event.
Shortmead House – whose stunning venue gave the evening its warmth and magic. Thank you to Lee, Esme and the whole team.
PCB Catering Services – for the incredible food that brought people together at every table.
Trinity Warriors – whose electrifying performance brought joy, energy and inspiration to the heart of the evening.
And of course, to our ongoing corporate partners – Moss UK, SMD Ltd, MM Flowersand Bidwells – whose unwavering support allows us to activate young people throughout the year.
What’s next
We left Tuesday night feeling energised, connected, and ready for what comes next.
This movement is growing. Together, we’re building something bold, necessary, and deeply human.
The Summer Gathering reminded us of what’s possible when we stop talking about bridging gaps – and start building the bridges, together.
