BIG news from our Birthday Bash - Curious Entrepreneur to Ignite Champion in under 1 year

We could tell you about how many Ballers came to celebrate our 1 year birthday yesterday, or how beautiful the mansion was, or how moved the audience was by the uplifting stories delivered so eloquently by the young people.

We could also explain about our exclusive first airing of Simon Burton’s PUNK business way of thinking, or how many connections were made, or how incredible it was for the team to celebrate the news of Sam Squire becoming CEO of Inspire 2 Ignite CIC.

However, for us, the young people were the absolute stars of the show and rightly deserve ALL the kudos from the night.

Lewis becomes Ignite Champion

The first piece of news we’d like to proudly share with you as a direct result of last night is original Curious Entrepreneur, Lewis Newark who has pledged his intention to us this morning to bring on a business partner through the Inspire 2 Ignite CIC programme. Lewis explains;

Almost a year ago, Alex and Sam handed me £350 in cash at the Next Step Event. With that money, I laid the groundwork for my plant hire side-hustle, transforming the initial £350 into a clear profit of £5,000. Today, I'm ready to pay it forward, aiming to impact another young individual just as Alex and Sam impacted me. Inspire 2 Ignite CIC is now assisting me in my search for a business partner to elevate this venture.

Lewis will be on the other side of the table, on the panel at the Next Step event, offering aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to pitch to become his business partner. They will also benefit from comprehensive life and enterprise coaching as part of the Inspire 2 Ignite CIC programme, fully paid for by Lewis’ investment in the ‘Future Talent’ Padawan project.

Lewis and Sam at last night's event

Co-hosted by Michael

'King of the world' Michael has the world at his feet now, since his life-changing meeting with Alex and Sam

The audience of Ignite Champions, Curious Entrepreneurs, sponsors, partners and co-creators watched in awe as care-experienced Michael Ingliss took control of the room as Sam’s co-host. With his genius comic delivery, sincerity and story which literally punches you in the guts, it was an incredibly powerful way to kick off the afternoon session. Michael will be curating a brand new event which will raise the profile of care experienced young people, look out for further details over the next few weeks.

Creating a safe space

In the ‘green room’ our Marketing Manager, Lynnette had the pleasure of helping Michael put on his tie, completing his smart suited and booted vibe. This is an intimate bonding activity that many of us who live with our loved ones take for granted. Lynnette felt the importance of that close connection with Michael before he took to the stage, and was moved by the impact of such a simple task. It’s the small things that really make a difference, including the impact of Michael’s fresh new haircut on his confidence, courtesy of friend of Inspire 2 Ignite CIC; Som’s Salon!

Wow what a venue

At the end of a short track, secretly nestled just a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Biggleswade, Shortmead house was the chilled, calm and exquisitely bedecked backdrop to our party. The immaculate grounds and gardens of the mansion host weddings and private events throughout the year, including the forthcoming magical Christmas events.

Receive a warm and friendly welcome from partners Lee and Esme, who will make you feel one in a million.

Curious Entrepreneur, Bailey is now one of the senior individuals in the community, sharing his expertise at 18 with the new programme cohorts.

New connections and valued partners

Ignite Champions, Patience & Marium for SMD, and Georgia for Bidwells

It was also a wonderful opportunity for the team to connect with the Ignite Champions, the young people and new contacts in industry. For Inspire 2 Ignite CIC’s new CEO, Sam Squire, Chair; Alex Hughes, and brand new Curious Engager Lewis Kahraman it was a night to remember.

A big thank you to everyone for their continued support, and as always thanks to the Shift Momentum team for making the 1st birthday party such a huge success.

So, as the night wrapped, the vibes were clear. Keep the energy going, build the community, keep trusting and being kind, and have an unshakeable belief in what’s coming next for the Inspire 2 Ignite CIC programmes.

Thank you to everyone who came out to meet us, we can’t wait to bring you news of what comes next!
