Curious About Cambridge: a night of inspiration and innovation
Last night, Inspire 2 Ignite CIC hosted the much-anticipated Curious About Cambridge event, a gathering that illuminated the city with ideas, inspiration, and a collective drive to empower talented young people.
Thank you to First Ascent Group
The event, a resounding success, was made possible thanks to the generous support of our event sponsors, First Ascent Group. As a forward-thinking organisation commitment to driving innovation in training and brain science we are grateful for their valuable contribution. Their team’s presence and expertise added an invaluable dimension to the evening, where they shared their vision for the future.
Long-term friend of Inspire 2 Ignite CIC, Nicola Bretherton set the tone for the evening, guiding us through a journey of mindfulness, helping us become present and focused. Her contribution in setting our intentions was invaluable.
A heartfelt thank you to our panellists who shared their experiences and visions with candour and passion.
The panels, including; Meet Cambridge’s secret talents from Alternative Provision, Care About Work Experience (featuring a Bidwells case study), Constructing “The Future,” and Making Tech More Accessible to “The Future,” were deep dives into reflecting on the past and forging future opportunities.
For young people
The young participants from the Curious Entrepreneur Programme truly shone, taking on the challenge of a DisruptHR-style pitch. With 15 seconds per slide and a total of 5 minutes each, these activate young people demonstrated poise and confidence, some for the very first time on such a grand stage, speaking to nearly 100 of Cambridge’s most influential figures. Special thanks to Ignite Champion, Bill Banham from DisruptHR, for infusing this segment with his insight, wisdom and experience.
We also want to highlight the achievements of two of our incredible Ignite Champions, both who were panellists last night and made a huge contribution to the event.
Kelly Cartwright, Founder of Core Recruiter, recently made national headlines with her high-visibility dress, continues to turn heads and will be showcasing her third bespoke high-vis dress later this week. Inge Hunter, Founder of CLUE Content was honoured as the East of England Creative Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
Their achievements are a testament to the power of visibility and recognition in entrepreneurship.
Our CEO, Sam Squire, reflected on the event with pride and optimism:
Alex Hughes, Founder of Inspire 2 Ignite CIC, reflected on the event, expressing his pride in seeing the community come together to support and enact change for young people. His vision of a collaborative, supportive community was vividly realised in this event.
Curious About Cambridge was a celebration of potential, a showcase of talent, and a beacon of hope for the future. As we look forward to our future calendar of events, we remain committed to our mission of activating young talent and helping them understand who they truly are through life-changing experiences.
