About the Opportunity
Want to spend some time outdoors, try something new and build your confidence at the same time?
Green Sparks is a FREE nature-based programme from Groundwork East, funded by the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer. It’s designed for young people aged 18-21 (or up to 25 if you have SEND) and gives you the chance to get outdoors, meet new people and develop useful skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
You don’t need any previous experience or knowledge about nature, just come along and get involved!
What You’ll Be Doing
Across three days, you’ll take part in a mixture of practical, creative and wellbeing activities, which could include:
- Building bat boxes and other practical projects
- Gardening and getting hands-on with nature
- Trying nature-based art and creative activities
- Exploring wellbeing in the outdoors
- Working alongside other young people
- Thinking about your interests, aspirations and what you might want to do next

Who It’s For
Green Sparks is for young people who:
- Are aged 18-21, or up to 25 with SEND
- Want to build their confidence and life skills
- Would benefit from getting outdoors and trying something different
- Want to meet new people in a supportive environment
- Are thinking about their future and would like an opportunity to explore what comes next
You don’t need to be an expert in gardening or the environment the programme is about having a go, learning and enjoying the experience.
